CHALK HILL DETAILS

Chalk Hill formerly Falworth is now in
DCC operation and set in the 70s early 80s
and we hope you enjoy this look back in
time to hot sunny Summers for those blue
diesel days on a single track line near the
Southern/Western border.
There are many different types of diesels operating including hydraulic classes type 35 and 52,
type 24s on china clay workings and 31s, 33s and 47s can be found plying their trade on mixed traffic.
You may also see a rerouted 37 on an oil or bitumen train en-route from Fawley to the West Country.
This line sees a number of spotters throughout the year as times here are still good for varied viewing
at the track side. Any 20s you see are out of place but I couldn’t resist using one. There are a variety
of DMUs running on the line, so a run round loop at the station allows for slow freight traffic and
wagons waiting to use the quarry.

In time most of the locos will be weathered along with the rolling stock. We left the through station
virtually unchanged except for a minor revamp of the foliage but we have added the new 4ft quarry
section with a small fiddle yard. We also intend to add a new optional 4ft section at the other end and
some lighting for streets and yard on the existing boards.

The layout is 18ft x 2ft and requires 2 operators.
